For many years, I wanted to obtain my own training grounds.  Not having them meant having to travel great distances to land to train or hunt my dogs.  After what seemed like a lifetime of working and saving, the dream came true and I was finally able to purchase my own property suitable for training.  The move to north Florida to Shadowfax Farm happened in December of 1995.  The property has been steadily improved.  There now is a fantastic training facility on 121 acres.  Currently there is a totally fenced young dog training area, landscaped training fields, quail and pigeon pens, a large metal barn and most of the equipment necessary for maintenance of the land.

Shadowfax Farm is located in the prime quail belt between north Florida and south Georgia.  Many of the largest and best known quail plantations are located within miles of the farm.  The foremost quail research facility in the world, Tall Timbers, is also within a short drive. 

Many of my Shadowfax dogs are hunting these plantations.  Their owners prefer them over their pointers, setters and other pointing breeds.  The most often heard compliment is that the Gordons find more birds than the other breeds due to their fantastic scenting ability and thorough hunting pattern.
