Why Shadowfax Gordons

Shadowfax has been producing quality field Gordon Setters since the first litter was born in 1983.  Currently, the sixth generation of Shadowfax is here and doing it better than ever.  Over the years, I have produced many of the dogs that are the current foundation of the field trial and hunting Gordon Setter community.

Since my first field trial in 1973, I have competed my dogs in field trials in many parts of the country.  In the early years, my gundogs were trained by a professional due to a lack of resources, experience and training grounds.  Since that time, I've worked on my own training methods, utilizing many of the tried and true old techniques and many of the new techniques without using the electric collar.  This hands on approach has enabled me to directly examine my dogs traits and through selective breeding develop a better field Gordon Setter.
